Humane Society of West Michigan offers a variety of Youth Programs for students who are interested in getting involved with Humane Society of West Michigan. Our youth programs all focus on humane education.
Humane Education teaches children the value of responsible pet ownership by teaching respect and empathy towards all living beings.
Looking to get involved with animals and make new friends with the same passion? Pet Club features a different animal topic each week, complete a volunteer project and earn service learning hours per session.

READING BETWEEN FRIENDS
Reading Between Friends is an interactive way for students to work on their reading skills while helping comfort and reduce anxiety in shelter pets. Participants are able to interact with their "reading friend" for a short time before they sit down for quiet reading time with either a cat, dog or small animal.
